Popular entertainment resort complex Disney World earned its renowned reputation as “The Happiest Place On Earth” after years of sparking enjoyment within both children and adults.

Disney is internationally famous for its parks that bring fans’ favourite characters to life but there seems to be some secrets hidden behind the magic…

Let’s explore the mystery behind the attractions owned by the multinational mass media and entertainment company. Here are some supposed Disney World ‘secrets’ revealed by former workers, from hidden tunnels to unknown codewords.

Behind the characters in costume, the fun food and the thrilling fairground attractions, Florida’s Walt Disney World has a whole lot of staff members working hard to keep the magic alive.

However, when employees leave their paid position at the park, supposed ‘secrets’ soon begin to spill, many of which can be found floating around social media.

Former Disney World workers report that aside from the standard Mickey Mouse ears and film cameras brought into the park, some attendees even bring the remains of late loved ones.

Numerous employees report spotting guests dumping ashes on Disney property. This particularly took place in the Haunted Mansion, a dark ride attraction.

One employee took their particular creepy situation to Reddit as they shared their previous experience of attendees using the part as a burial ground:

“Please PLEASE leave your cremated loved ones at home. Stop dumping them in the Haunted Mansion. They just get vacuumed up and disposed of.”

Another staff member even suggested that by spreading ashes in Disney, you don’t get to come back:

“You get banned for life for that, and the ashes get cleaned up, or the water gets dumped. If you respect your loved one’s remains, do not do this.”

Ever noticed security keeping an eye on you while enjoying a day at the Disney park? Probably not, because a lot of them apparently wear plain clothing to blend with the rest of the crowd.

To maintain “The Happiest Place On Earth” while keeping the magic alive for every guest, Best Life reports that undercover officers are all over the place.

A Redditor suggests undercover security at Disneyland sport tourist-style outfits so “they fit right in.” As a result:

“It’s almost impossible to be anywhere in the park without being within sight of someone from security, uniformed or not.”

Codewords between employees for incidents also reportedly exist at Disney World. To keep the peace with guests, staff members use discreet communication to announce emergencies.

A former Disney employee commented on Reddit:

“When talking on headsets, you’re supposed to use different codes for things; for example, a medical situation was usually a ‘balloon’ for blood.”

Disney World’s colourful and clean decor is kept up by a secret tunnel used to remove rubbish from the park.

An insider told Reddit about Magic Kingdom’s state-of-the-art Automated Vacuum Assisted Collection System:

“There’s a “tunnel” underneath (it’s actually the first floor, the second and third floors are what you see in the park) and the AVACS is a series of tubes that connects all of the restaurants to the main dump that’s behind Splash Mountain. The trash is whisked away under the park so the guests don’t have to see it or smell it. It’s pretty cool.”

The Tree of Life is a 145-foot (44 m) sculpture of a baobab tree located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney describes the sculpture as “an epic visual symbol of the diversity, beauty and interconnected nature of Earth’s creatures.”

However, there is something quite unnatural about this attraction as the man-made tree was built over a retrofitted 14-story oil rig.

Best Life reports that according to Chicago Tribune, the 145-foot creation is covered with more than 100,000 leaves that are each more than a foot long. The tree’s trunk is made of concrete, not wood.
