ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) has sealed nine healthcare establishments in different areas of the capital.

IHRA inspection teams carried out inspections at 55 health facilities during the past two weeks.

According to a statement, Alfalah Lab, Perfect Medical Centre, Chughtai Lab collection center, Iftikhar Dental Clinic, Khan Homeopathic Clinic, Al Khidmat Medical Centre and Saleem Dental Care were sealed due to different malpractices like not getting registered with IHRA, keeping expired kits and reagents, and unqualified staff rendering medical services.

Ayat Zahra Rehabilitation Center was partially sealed for non-submission of fine while X-Ray department of Medicare Hospital was sealed due to absence of qualified staff. Family Health Clinic and Shah Pharmacy and Al-Samad First Aid Center services were suspended for keeping expired blood test tubes and not getting registered with IHRA.

As many as 19 healthcare establishments were served notices for different non-compliances and instructed to comply with the directions given by the inspection teams. Five health facilities were recommended for registration and revocation of suspension.
